Label Cords with Washi Tape or a Label Maker

There’s nothing worse than looking for a cord and guessing which one will work. An easy remedy to this problem is a simple label.

As soon as you bring a new cord into the house, label it. Use washi tape and a permanent marker, or affix a label from your label maker around the cable.

Invest in Cable Sleeves

Cables sleeves look like mesh but are made from heat-resistant material. You can place them over one cord (like your computer cord) to disguise it or purchase large ones that can keep several cords together.

Use Old Toilet Paper Rolls and a Box to Keep them Organized

If you’re sick of your cables tangling, keep the ones you don’t use organized with toilet paper rolls.

Keep all of your empty toilet paper rolls, bundle your cables, and secure them with a twist tie. Then, stand the rolls up in an empty shoe box and insert each cord into a separate roll.

Create Charging Stations

Household charging stations provide an easy way to keep tabs on your most important chargers and prevent them from tangling up. You can buy trays with built-in plug-ins specifically for this purpose or create your own charging station in a drawer, basket, or shelf.

Throw Out What You Don’t Use

If you have a junk drawer in your kitchen, I’m guessing that there’s a heap of tangled cords nestled inside. And if your drawer looks anything like mine did before decluttering, it’s full of unidentified cords you’ve never used.

While it might be a pain, take thirty minutes to figure out where cords go and if you need them. If you aren’t quite sure about some, put them in a zip-lock bag and write a date on it. Revisit the bag in three months. If you haven’t used them within three months, toss them in the garbage.

Bundle Cords in a Clear Box

@apopofyou The better way to organize loose cords As a busy mom of three, keeping our home organized is always a challenge, especially when it comes to managing all our messy cords! Doesn’t it feel like EVERYTHING comes with a cord nowadays?? I just completed my second annual New Years purge, but all of those pesky cords were a NON-ISSUE because of a little organization hack I used last year. One of my ultimate mom hacks for organizing cords involves using stretchy, magnetic cord organizers along with a photo storage box. I was getting stressed out by the chaos in our cord bin, but this organization system has been a total game changer! Now, all our cords have their designated spot in the photo storage box, and with everything neatly labeled, there’s no more frantic searching or untangling. It’s been such a relief to finally have all our loose cords in order. In the craziness of a nonstop day with kids, an unorganized home can feel like a time thief for any mom… I’ve been there—frantically searching through drawers, shuffling piles, and searching every nook and cranny for essentials like keys, important papers, or even things like socks or toys for the kids. A disorganized space not only causes frustration but also consumes valuable time that could be devoted to more fulfilling activities. It’s incredible how much time slips away in the chaos of an unorganized home, leaving busy moms feeling overwhelmed and longing for more efficient systems in place. By using this loose cord organization hack, each cord now has its own spot. It’s amazing how much easier it is to locate the right charger or cable when they’re neatly organized and labeled in the box. When everything has its specific place to call home, the stress of finding items literally disappears. Also, have you seen my Sharpie labeling hack? It’s one of my best kept secrets too! #fyp #foryou #phonechargers #messydrawer #organization #photoboxes #labeling #amazonfinds #homeorganization ♬ Best Time – Infraction Music

Clear plastic shoe boxes are wonderful cord containers. They allow you to see what you have stored and provide space for longer cables.

For the cheapest organization route, label your cords, wrap them up, and then neatly place them in the box. Or, for even more organization, purchase cord containers and arrange them in your clear box with the label facing up.

Disguise Cords in the Living Room with a Cord Cover

A lot of cords running down the wall can kill a room’s appearance. An easy remedy for this is a cord cover. You can purchase inexpensive cord covers from Amazon for less than $20. Simply use the included adhesive strips to attach the cord cover strip to the wall, insert your cords, and pop on the cover.

Install Cord Wrappers on Small Appliances

Appliances with cord wraps are easier to store, but unfortunately, not all small appliances or vacuums come with them. If you’re sick of managing cables while putting away appliances from the counter, you need cord wraps.

For less than $20, you can invest in a pack of cord wrappers like these from 3M. They stick to any appliance and are heat resistant.
